Recap: Poly Bears vs. Hillcrest Trojans

The Poly Bears came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Hillcrest 64-49. That's another feather in the cap for Poly, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest still got an impressive performance from McKel Shedrick, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Shedrick's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Jonathan Celestine was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Poly's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Damien at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Damien knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Poly likes a good challenge. Hillcrest won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th.
