Lone Star gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Wray Eagles 3-2. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Lone Star wouldn't go down easily and took Wray into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-23, 25-9, 21-25, 15-5.

Jade Kuntz paced Lone Star's offense, picking up 13 kills. Kuntz got some help from Grace Cochran and her 31 assists. Cochran was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lone Star will square off against Caliche at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wray, they will venture away from home to square off against Otis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
