Soccer Game Preview: Blue Ridge vs. Greer

Blue Ridge is 1-9 against Greer since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fighting Tigers will host the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m.

Blue Ridge fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Pickens on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Flame by a score of 4-3. Blue Ridge have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Greer entered their tilt with Berea on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for Greer, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

Greer's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four contests. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Blue Ridge suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to Greer when the teams last played back in March. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Fighting Tigers were down 5-0.
