Softball Recap: Archbishop Spalding Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Archbishop Spalding's offense. They fell just short of the St. Mary's Ryken Knights by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cessi Prince was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Archbishop Spalding's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for St. Mary's Ryken, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Archbishop Spalding will be playing in front of their home fans against Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will challenge La Plata at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
