Lumberton is 9-1 against Purnell Swett since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lumberton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Midway just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

Lumberton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Purnell Swett lost 3-0 to Gray's Creek on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-8.

Purnell Swett's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Lumberton took their victory against Purnell Swett when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
