Soccer Recap: Marietta Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Marietta took on Canfield on Saturday. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 2-1. Given Marietta's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Canfield are ranked 145th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grace Spencer was the driving force of Marietta's attack as she scored both of Marietta's goals, bringing her season total up to 22 goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Marietta and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Canfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Marietta didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-3 draw against Wheeling Central Catholic on the 9th. As for Canfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Poland Seminary on the 6th.
