Basketball Game Preview: Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans vs. Dade Christian Warriors

The Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans will take on the Dade Christian Warriors in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hialeah-Miami Lakes has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Dade Christian will arrive with three straight wins.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes lost 74-52 to Goleman on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 691st, while the Gators are ranked 336th).

Meanwhile, Dade Christian made easy work of Keys Gate on Wednesday and carried off a 56-30 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Dade Christian's win came from a few key players Hialeah-Miami Lakes will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kosta Raicevic, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clorvens Celine, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Dade Christian's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.9 points. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes was taken down by Dade Christian 74-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, Kenvenson Malivert (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
