Baseball Game Preview: North Point Grizzlies vs. Liberty Eagles

The North Point Grizzlies will venture away from home to take on the Liberty Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Liberty took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Point, who comes in off a win.

North Point is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Lindbergh, who was ranked 15th at the time (North Point was ranked 22nd). The Grizzlies won by a run and slipped past the Flyers 12-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their two-run performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Zumwalt East. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 9th.

North Point is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8-1 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

North Point couldn't quite get it done against Liberty in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
