Football Recap: Westside Wolves vs. Cesar E. Chavez Lobos

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westside). They blew past the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos 58-0 on Thursday. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Alexandre Turcios went supernova for Westside, rushing for 207 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Turcios showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards. Dillyn White was another major influence, as he rushed for 32 yards and ran in a TD.

Westside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 351 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cesar E. Chavez only rushed for -40.

Westside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Nwoko and Bryce Harris. Nwoko is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in the last three games he's played.

The win (which was Westside's third in a row) raised their record to 3-6. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Westside and Heights will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will venture away from home to challenge Wisdom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
