Softball Recap: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Shoals Jug Rox

Eastern Greene scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. They put the hurt on the Shoals Jug Rox with a sharp 14-1 victory. The win was just what Eastern Greene needed coming off of a 13-0 loss in their prior game.

Jessica Hovious made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hovious was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Eastern Greene let Taylor Konermann and Bianca Wyatt loose on the outfield. Konermann scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Wyatt scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Claira McGee, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

On Shoals' side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Haulk, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.
