Shiner is 9-1 against Flatonia since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Shiner Comanches will welcome the Flatonia Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Shiner's tournament run continued when they took on Calhoun on Saturday. Shiner blew past Calhoun 52-23. Given the Comanches' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Sandcrabs are ranked 1265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Flatonia waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They claimed a resounding 76-11 victory over the Bobcats/Lady Cats. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-5.

Shiner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Flatonia, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Shiner didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Flatonia in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 71-65 victory. Will Shiner repeat their success, or does Flatonia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
