Soccer Recap: Catalina Foothills' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catalina Foothills). Their defense stepped up to hand the Vista Grande Spartans a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Spartans are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Catalina Foothills' offense was hitting Vista Grande from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Luca Celi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The win (which was Catalina Foothills' 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those 11 games. As for Vista Grande, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Catalina Foothills is taking a road trip to square off against Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Grande, they will host Cholla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
