Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to the Algonac Muskrats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Algonac, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will take on Shepherd at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Algonac, they will welcome North Branch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
