Softball Recap: Eldorado Has No Trouble Against Los Alamos

Eldorado won against Del Norte last Thursday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Eldorado blew past the Los Alamos Hilltoppers 19-8. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won four matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Eldorado got a massive performance out of Gigi Medina-Vigil, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Medina-Vigil a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Zamora, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Eldorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Eldorado's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Los Alamos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Eldorado will welcome West Mesa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eldorado's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Mesa has averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Los Alamos, they will head out to square off against St. Pius X at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
