After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Soddy Daisy, Chattanooga Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Signal Mountain Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Pounders, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kaitlynn Cunningham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Cunningham was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Kennedi Sabb was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Townsend, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Chattanooga Central has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9-1 record this season. As for Signal Mountain, they dropped their record down to 6-16 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
