Football Game Preview: Lakeside Beavers vs. Palestine-Wheatley Patriots

The Lakeside Beavers will venture away from home to take on the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Lakeside came up short against Barton and fell 32-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Beavers in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost three in a row.

Lakeside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Braylon Jenkins led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Chad Dixon II also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Lakeside is 3-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Palestine-Wheatley also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Drew Central by a score of 35-26.

Palestine-Wheatley's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lakeside, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Things could have been worse for Lakeside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-18 loss to Palestine-Wheatley when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
