Recap: Russell Red Devils vs. East Carter Raiders
It was a good run, but The Russell Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 28-21 to East Carter. Russell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Carter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Russell still got an impressive performance from Ethan Pack, who rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
East Carter found their leader in underclassman Landon Yoak, who rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Ryland Pfau was another key contributor, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Russell's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for East Carter, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Russell will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Bourbon County at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for East Carter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Martin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
