Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Falls Despite Big Games from Nathan Matoush and Jackson Tuetken

Hillsboro lost against Litchfield back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hillsboro Hiltoppers took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Litchfield Purple Panthers. The Hiltoppers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Hillsboro had strong showings from Jackson Tuetken, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and three steals, and Nathan Matoush, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. The matchup was Matoush's tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Litchfield, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Hillsboro has already played their next contest, a 60-52 defeat against Pana on the 25th. As for Litchfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-40 victory against Father McGivney Catholic on the 25th.
