Baseball Game Preview: Trico Pioneers vs. Waterloo Bulldogs

The Trico Pioneers will head out on the road to square off against the Waterloo Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Trico took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Johnston City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers had just enough and edged out the Indians 4-3 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waterloo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Mater Dei on Thursday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Knights since May 7, 2016.

Trico's record now sits at 7-11. As for Waterloo, their record is now 12-7.

Trico suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Waterloo in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
