Basketball Game Preview: Wells Warriors vs. Poland Knights

The Wells Warriors will take on the Poland Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Poland will be up against a hot Wells squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Wells blew past Lake Region, posting a 63-30 victory. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Poland came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Raiders to the tune of 68-36. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Raiders are ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Poland pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for Wells against Poland when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 57-30 win. Will Wells repeat their success, or does Poland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
