North Platte and Alliance are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. North Platte will face off against Alliance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, North Platte beat South Sioux City 54-45.

Jonathan Rinke had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Uehling, who posted three points and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alliance, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-46 victory over Mitchell on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

North Platte better focus on containing Creighton Fritzler and Espen Lanik as the pair were huge in Alliance's win. Fritzler shot 67% from the field on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and six boards, while Lanik earned 21 points and three steals. Those six rebounds gave Fritzler a new career-high. Braeden Clarke was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

The victory got North Platte back to even at 1-1. As for Alliance, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

North Platte came up short against Alliance when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-50. Thankfully for North Platte, Payton Boyer (who went 8-for-11 to rack up 21 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
