Alhambra is 2-8 against Clayton Valley Charter since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Ugly Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Alhambra was able to grind out a solid victory over Northgate, taking the game 6-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Willa Adler made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Genevieve Hernandez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Juliana Carranza was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Alhambra hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Panthers.
Camdyn Alton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Izabella Holt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Riley Barton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Clayton Valley Charter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Alhambra, their record is now 12-8.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alhambra hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Clayton Valley Charter struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alhambra suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Clayton Valley Charter in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
