Softball Recap: Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm vs. Bemidji Lumberjacks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sartell-St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids-Rice was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bemidji Lumberjacks. For Sauk Rapids-Rice, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 loss Bemidji walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Riley Turck was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Turck was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Turck wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Seaman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Sauk Rapids-Rice made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2. As for Bemidji, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sauk Rapids-Rice will head out on the road to face off against St. Cloud Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sauk Rapids-Rice is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Bemidji, they will be playing at home against Proctor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
