Basketball Recap: Lansing Christian Comes Up Short

Lansing Christian saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 65-47 to Everest Collegiate. While losing is never fun, the Pilgrims can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Everest Collegiate are ranked 114th).

When it comes to explaining why Lansing Christian lost, don't look at Ethan Damesworth. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-10 en route to 22 points along with seven boards and five assists. The matchup was Damesworth's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was David Hall, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Lansing Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Everest Collegiate, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 25-1.

Lansing Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Everest Collegiate, they have already played their next contest, a 58-41 loss against Inter-City Baptist on the 6th.
