Basketball Game Preview: Clarkrange Buffaloes vs. Van Buren County Eagles

The Clarkrange Buffaloes will square off against the Van Buren County Eagles on Saturday. Clarkrange knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Van Buren County likes a good challenge.

Clarkrange had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Clay County on Wednesday. Clarkrange was the clear victors by a 57-32 margin over Clay County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Buffaloes have posted against the Bulldogs since February 24, 2021.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Van Buren County's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 56-47 to Copper Basin.

Van Buren County's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Clarkrange, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Clarkrange came up short against Van Buren County when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 42-36. Can Clarkrange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
