Football Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pinecrest and Chambers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pinecrest had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 32-31 to the Cougars. The Patriots have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pinecrest lost, don't look at Chris Najm. Despite the final result, he rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Najm's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Pinecrest also got a significant boost from Dayton Knight, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Pinecrest, adding 11 points to the final score. All came from Josh Mandell: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 2-for-2 kicking extra points for an additional two.

Pinecrest's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Chambers, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

As of now, neither Pinecrest nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
