Softball Preview: Pace Academy Knights vs. Decatur Bulldogs        
        
		
             The Pace Academy Knights will challenge the Decatur Bulldogs at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Pace Academy is coming into the  game hot, having won their last 13 games.
 Last Monday, Pace Academy made easy work of Midtown  and carried off  a  15-3 win. Considering Pace Academy has won 17 contests by more than seven  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Megan Wrigley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Kate Grice was  incredible,  going 4-for-4 with a  home run, six  RBI,  and two  triples. What's more,  she also racked up four  hits, the mostshe's  had since back in September of 2023. Another player making a difference was  Amelit Hall, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pace Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .318 or higher in 12 consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Decatur didn't have quite enough to beat Lakeside on Monday and fell  7-6. The Bulldogs have now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Pace Academy has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 14 of their last 15 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record  this season. As for Decatur, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 12-9.
