Baseball Game Preview: Pendleton County Wildcat vs. Petersburg Vikings

The Pendleton County Wildcat are taking a road trip to square off against the Petersburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pendleton County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Pendleton County came up short against Keyser and fell 7-4. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcat in their meetings with the Golden Tornado: they've now lost five in a row.

Pendleton County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Simon, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Petersburg nor Northern Garrett made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Vikings came up short against the Huskies, falling 16-2.

Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Pendleton County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Pendleton County was able to grind out a solid victory over Petersburg in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 10-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcat since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
