Baseball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Rangeview Raiders

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will head out to challenge the Rangeview Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thomas Jefferson fell victim to Golden and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Demons, falling 21-0. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Demons: they've now lost five in a row.

Smoky Hill hit Rangeview with a five-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders lost 11-0 to the Buffalo.

Rangeview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Gauthier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Thomas Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Rangeview, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Thomas Jefferson got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Rangeview by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
