Basketball Recap: McBee Takes a Loss

McBee's last matchup with C.A. Johnson could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Panthers were outmatched by the Hornets and fell 67-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Hornets since February 8, 2022.

When it comes to explaining why McBee lost, don't look at Hayden Griggs. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Griggs has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Sutton, who posted nine points.

McBee's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for C.A. Johnson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

McBee and Camden will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for C.A. Johnson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-63 win against Ben Lippen on the 19th.
