Recap: Loyalsock Township Lancers vs. Warrior Run Defenders
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Loyalsock Township Lancers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-13 victory over Warrior Run. Considering Loyalsock Township has won six games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyler Gee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. Gee hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Andrews, who picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Warrior Run to a paltry 197 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Loyalsock Township's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Warrior Run's QB won't forget Isaiah West anytime soon given West sacked him three times.
Carter Marr and Samuel Hall certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Marr picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Hall picked up 94 receiving yards.
The win (which was Loyalsock Township's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Warrior Run, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Loyalsock Township will head out on the road to face off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Loyalsock Township a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Warrior Run does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
