Baseball Recap: South Webster Takes a Loss

Eastern hit South Webster with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jeeps fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. The loss continues a trend for the Jeeps in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

South Webster's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Eastern, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Looking ahead, South Webster will challenge Wheelersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jeeps 2.8, the Pirates 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Eastern, they will square off against Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
