Baseball Game Preview: Palm Harbor University Hurricanes vs. Largo Packers

Palm Harbor University is 7-2 against Largo since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Palm Harbor University will be playing at home against Largo at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Largo will be up against a hot Palm Harbor University squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Palm Harbor University never let Dunedin get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Tuesday.

Not much got past Kasey Mink, who gave up just three hits to keep Dunedin off the board.

At the plate, Smith Wortham and Corbin Godoy did most of the damage at the plate: Wortham got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Godoy scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Godoy is becoming a predictor of Palm Harbor University's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Largo made sure to put some runs up on the board against Zephyrhills on Monday. Largo was the clear victor by a 16-2 margin over Zephyrhills. The Packers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Palm Harbor University pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Largo, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
