Linfield Christian had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the West Valley Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since August 17, 2024.

Linfield Christian wouldn't go down easily and took West Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-11, 25-15, 20-25, 15-9.

Sophie Dickinson had a dynamite game, getting 25 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

West Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deonys Ioane, who had 16 digs, seven kills, and two aces. Ioane has been hot recently, having also posted 14 or more assists the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sheiann Rosales, who had 18 digs and four aces.

Linfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for West Valley, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Linfield Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Classical Academy on the 2nd. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Great Oak on the 3rd.
