Basketball Recap: Centerburg Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Centerburg can now relate to. They fell 40-33 to the Newark Catholic Green Wave on Saturday.

Newark Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Fini Kaiser, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Harrington, who went 5-for-7 en route to 11 points.

Centerburg's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Newark Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Centerburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newark Catholic, they will challenge Anna at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Anna comes in on seven and Newark Catholic on four.
