Baseball Recap: Barnegat Triumphs

While Barnegat's win against Lacey Township wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals had just enough and edged out the Lions 2-1 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bengals have posted since April 20, 2024.

Barnegat has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Lacey Township, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barnegat will head out to challenge Point Pleasant Boro at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Lacey Township, they will venture away from home to take on Neptune at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Scarlet Fliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
