Soccer Game Preview: Bruton vs. Warhill

Bruton is 1-6 against Warhill since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m.

Bruton is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to Lafayette. While losing is never fun, Bruton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Lafayette are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Warhill duked it out with Tabb on Wednesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering Warhill have won five contests by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Warhill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Bruton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
