Baseball Recap: Gridley Takes a Loss

Gridley easily dispatched Las Plumas last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Gridley fell just short of Folsom by a score of 4-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Gridley has suffered since March 7th.

Gridley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Francis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Gridley's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Folsom, their record now sits at 6-14.

Gridley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-3 win against Marysville on the 14th. As for Folsom, they will challenge McClatchy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
