After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Howland finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell 5-2 to the Boardman Spartans. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Howland got a good showing from Elliot Gebhardt, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Howland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Santee, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Howland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Boardman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

While Howland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
