Baseball Recap: Metuchen Takes a Loss

Metuchen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Middlesex Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Tuesday.

Matthew Jelleme was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was James Fenton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Metuchen's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Middlesex, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Metuchen has already played their next contest, an 8-3 victory against South Brunswick on the 18th. As for Middlesex, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 win against Voorhees on the 17th.
