            Volleyball Recap: Avon Falcons vs. Bristol Eastern Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell  3-1 to the Bristol Eastern Lancers. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in November of 2024.
 The final score came out to 25-22, 25-27, 25-15,  25-12.
 Maddie Vanvalkenburgh paced Avon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Vanvalkenburgh got some help from  Bella Peterson and her 19 assists. Vanvalkenburgh also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Ainsley Evans, each putting up three.
 Bristol Eastern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Naseem Hennouch, who  had seven  digs and three  aces. Hennouch has been hot for a while, having  posted two or more  aces the last 12 times she's  played.  Ashley Adorno was another key player,  getting five  aces and four  digs.
Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Bristol Eastern, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season.
 Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  loss against Farmington on the 21st. As for Bristol Eastern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-1  win against Cheshire on the 20th.
