Basketball Game Preview: Sidney Yellowjackets vs. Piqua Indians

The Sidney Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Piqua Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sidney's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Last Friday, Sidney got the win against Fairborn by a conclusive 63-42. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Skyhawks are ranked 691st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Piqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 65-41 to Butler. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered against the Aviators since November 30, 2018.

Sidney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Piqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Everything went Sidney's way against Piqua in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Sidney made off with a 56-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sidney since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
