Shawnee Mission East waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mill Valley Jaguars a 2-0 shutout. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Lancers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Shawnee Mission East pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mill Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shawnee Mission East is set to take on their familiar foe Lawrence Free State on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mill Valley will face off against rival Shawnee Mission West on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 1.2, the Vikings 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
