Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Brossart Mustangs vs. Ludlow Panthers

Bishop Brossart is a perfect 4-0 against Ludlow since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

George Rogers Clark hit Bishop Brossart with a 12-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 17-6 to the Cardinals. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Bishop Brossart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Schultz, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Schultz is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 7-10 when he doesn't). Another was Isaac Amin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Ludlow came up short against Boone County on Friday, falling 15-2.

Bishop Brossart's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Ludlow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
