Baseball Recap: Franklin County Tech Extends Winning Streak to Three

Franklin County Tech entered their tilt with Greenfield on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Green Wave. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Green Wave back in April, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Franklin County Tech got a great performance from Caleb Begos as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Begos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Franklin County Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Donahue, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Donahue has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

Franklin County Tech's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Greenfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Franklin County Tech will venture away from home to challenge Turners Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenfield, they will head out to square off against South Hadley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
