Soccer Recap: Mallard Creek Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Charlotte last Tuesday, Mallard Creek came back down to earth. The Mavericks lost 8-0 to the Hopewell Titans on Thursday. Mallard Creek have struggled against Hopewell recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hopewell, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-2 record this season.

Mallard Creek and Hopewell will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Mavericks see the pitch they'll take on North Mecklenburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Hopewell, their break will end when they face West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
