Football Recap: Forrest County Agricultural Takes a Loss

Forrest County Agricultural started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Purvis. They lost to the Tornadoes at home by a 34-20 margin on Friday. The Aggies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Purvis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Cooper, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Cooper was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 56 yards. Another back making a difference was Gabe Franklin, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only eight carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Forrest County Agricultural and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Purvis, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Forrest County Agricultural and Purvis will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Aggies are set to challenge their familiar foe Moss Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Purvis will square off against rival East Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
