Baseball Recap: Salem Academy Charter Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lynn Vo-Tech

Salem Academy Charter had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 8-4 to the Lynn Vo-Tech Tigers. The Navigator have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Danny Silk was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Silk was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Josh Rosario made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Coming up, Salem Academy Charter will challenge Malden at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Lynn Vo-Tech has already played their next match (against Rockport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
