Basketball Game Preview: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles

Southern Alamance and Eastern Alamance are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Southern Alamance Patriots will welcome the Eastern Alamance Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Southern Alamance had to suffer through a 76-36 loss at the hands of Orange. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern Alamance). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-71 win over Person on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Rockets are ranked 61st).

Eastern Alamance has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Southern Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Southern Alamance lost to Eastern Alamance at home by a decisive 66-52 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Eastern Alamance's Ja'Vier Tinnin, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten boards, and 12 assists.
