Baseball Game Preview: Montebello Oilers vs. San Dimas Saints

The Montebello Oilers will take on the San Dimas Saints in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Montebello saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell 7-3 to Arcadia. The Oilers have struggled against the Apaches recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Aaron Vallejo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Isaiah Cervantes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, San Dimas fell victim to Bishop Amat and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 1-0.

Montebello's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for San Dimas, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Montebello beat San Dimas 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Does Montebello have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Dimas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
